Meet the Founder

Natascha Neptune is the Founder & CEO of Citadelle Green Mountain. Citadelle Green Mountain is a first-generation farm entering the agriculture market in Illinois. Its location is in an economically disadvantaged community on the South side of the city of Chicago. 

With over 7 years in urban farming, she plans to grow industrial hemp as a part of the climate smart initiative. This initiative  will be used to sequester carbon and offer material as biomass and other products.    

Natascha is an active member in the community.  She enjoys volunteering  and supporting events that increase engagement. Natascha is part of the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Hemp Growers Association. She is associated with the National Women in Ag Association Chicago Chapter (NWIAA-Chicago).  

Natascha loves growing bell peppers!  She enjoys incorporating  yellow, green, red, orange, and purple bell peppers in various dishes.   Natascha aspires to transform how we look at food in our communities.

She enjoys outdoor activities, boardgames, "Old-school" video games, music, dancing, and spending time with family and close friends.

Natascha graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She received her Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
